Is Rihanna just part of postmodernism?

What is postmodernism?

Dictionary definition: any of a number of trends or movements in the arts and literature developing in the 1970s in reaction to or rejection of the dogma, principles, or practices of established modernism, especially a movement in architecture and the decorative arts running counter to the practice and influence of the International Style and encouraging the use of elements from historical vernacular styles and often playful illusion, decoration, and complexity.

Note: some of the definititions contradict eachother on opinions of when and what postmodernism is.

In my opinion postmedernism definatley happened after the industrial revoloution when technology and the way of life started to become more modern and we wanted modernism to happen.

So it makes me wonder: is Rihanna just a part of this modern culture? Is she just conforming to what developments have happened over the years when it comes to tollerence of explicit behaviour?

There are many arguments that i could make to say that Rihanna is just part of postmodernism, but she didnt create it. The way our culture has changed in society when thinking about explicit behaviour of female stars today, could be the cause of changes in the positions of women, feminism, different expectations of life and more acceptance of the explicit and controversial behaviour. If Rihanna's behaviour is linked to feminism, who says that she is doing any wrong? She is expressing what she wants to do with freedom. We have all be effected by postmodernism in some way or another as its the time we live in. It is nessesity sometimes.
